With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Natalio Isip, lovingly known as “Taling,” on September 11, 2026, in Murrieta, California, following health complications. He was born on July 28, 1936, in Manila, Philippines.
Natalio worked as a Merchant Seaman of the Philippines for 20 years. He later worked in maintenance at a Toyota dealership in New Jersey City for nearly 10 years. He also worked with Katmai as a Role Player, where he trained actors who portrayed specific cultural, civilian, or opposing-force characters in realistic military training scenarios to help U.S. service members practice interacting with foreign populations and simulate operational environments.
Natalio loved family gatherings, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and learning about their lives and activities. He enjoyed every moment when his children picked him up to have lunch or dinner together. He also enjoyed meeting friends in Mira Mesa for coffee or tea and lunch, where they could catch up and share stories about their daily lives. On Sundays, he attended Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
He loved telling stories and jokes, spending time with friends, and dancing at family parties. Although Natalio took great pride in his work, his family was his greatest joy. His heart was filled with happiness during family gatherings, and he especially treasured time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed learning about their interests, hobbies, and accomplishments. He even enjoyed learning new technology from them and having them teach him how to operate his cell phone, often laughing together in the process.
Natalio’s love for the Lord Jesus and his devotion to the Eucharist were at the center of his life. His faith guided the way he loved, supported, and cared for the people around him. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, relative, and friend.
Natalio is survived by his children, Liza, Jojo, Gigi, Nancy, Charlie, and Richard; his brothers Jaime and Junior; his sister Linda; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his eldest child and daughter, Leslie Isip; his parents, Tomasa and Eduardo Isip; his sisters Marcy and Baby; and his brother Lorenzo “Boy.”
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:30 AM at:
