With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nellie Morgan, who passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 26, 2026, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born on February 21, 1935, in Paris, Texas.

Nellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She was also a talented artist who painted for Olan Mills before color photography became common. She took great pride in her work and in creating a beautiful home where family was always welcomed with love.

She had many passions throughout her life. Nellie loved tending to her flowers, especially her cherished irises. She and her husband, Norman Ray Morgan, enjoyed dancing together in their living room, creating memories that reflected the love they shared. She also treasured the opportunity to travel to Japan with her husband and often shared stories about the places she visited and the kindness she experienced there.

Nellie was known for her contagious laugh, kind heart, and joyful spirit. She had a wonderful sense of humor, but she also believed in raising her family with strong values. She taught her children the importance of respect, honesty, and courage, lessons that continue to guide them today.

Among the memories her family treasures most is hearing about the time she sang on the radio with her cousin, Gene, when they were young. Though she remained humble about the experience, her family always celebrated that special part of her life.

Nellie would want to be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and the center of her life.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Claudia, Susan, Pamela, and Paula; her grandchildren, Michelle Morgan, Isabelle Beaman, Genevieve Beaman, April Flowers, Anna Hamill, Jessica Ely, Kevin Ely, Daniel Fields, Sedalia Villarreal, Stephen Sweet, Morgan Sweet, and Marc Williams.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Ray Morgan; her daughters, Judith and Deborah; her parents, Ethel and LeRoy; and her siblings, Cynthia Jo, LeRoy Jr., and Carrie Anne.

A memorial service will be held on September 20 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life PCG, 311 E. Houston St., Paris, TX 75461, followed by a procession to Evergreen Cemetery.

Nellie's love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faithfulness, and a family whose lives were forever enriched by her love.
