Patricia Huff passed away on November 17, 2025, in Compton, California, due to complications from a stroke. She was born in Anawalt, West Virginia.
Patricia graduated from Gary District High School in Gary, West Virginia. She then pursued higher education, graduating from Bluefield State University with high honors, a reflection of her dedication, intelligence, and drive for excellence.
Patricia worked for Los Angeles County until her retirement, bringing leadership, intelligence, and a strong sense of responsibility to every role she held. She was known for her self-reliance and brilliance, qualities that left a lasting impression on all who met her.
Her dedication to service earned her recognition at the White House for her work with the homeless, a testament to her compassion and commitment to community.
Patricia had a deep passion for family legacy and the exploration of ancestry. This love extended into her proudest accomplishments, including founding a family conclave in Cedar Grove, Tennessee, known as The Huff Compound, a gathering place built from her vision of unity and generational connection.
A committed traveler, Patricia sought to visit every coast of Africa and succeeded in exploring West and Central Africa. Her travels also took her to Brazil and throughout the Caribbean islands.
Above all, Patricia would want to be remembered for her love of family.
She is survived by her sons: Jimmy White Jr., who resides in Compton with his wife, Shawon, and their two daughters; and John White, who recently relocated from California and now lives in Costa Rica.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheryl White, and her husband, Jimmy White.
Patricia’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the impact she made throughout her life.
