Paul “Butch” Emata, age 73, passed away on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in
Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, he lived a life defined by faith, family, generosity, and an unforgettable
presence that touched all who knew him.

Butch was a devoted husband to Maria Teresita Dela Llana Emata, and a proud and loving father to
Paul Temujin Emata (and his wife, Stacey), Chelsea Ann Emata-Variano (and her husband, Jason),
and Carmel Angeli Emata. His greatest joy was his family, especially his cherished
grandchildren—Tyler Malik Emata, Sofia Teslyn Variano, and Sabrina Jaylin Variano—who brought
immense light and pride into his life.

Known for his bold personality, joyful spirit, and deep faith, Butch was truly a man of the people. He had
a way of filling every room with laughter, warmth, and connection. Generous to a fault, he gave freely of
his time, resources, and love, always bringing people together in celebration and fellowship. He was
respected and admired by many and surrounded by loyal friends and a strong community.

A prayerful man devoted to God and his family, Butch lived with conviction and heart. He also had a
deep love for music and was happiest with a microphone in hand, singing his signature song, “My
Way”—a reflection of how he lived his life: boldly, joyfully, and on his own terms.

He will be remembered for his laughter, his generosity, his unwavering love for his family, and the joy
he brought into every gathering. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the family he
loved so deeply.

Viewing services will be announced at a later date. A church service will be held at Saint Genevieve’s
Catholic Church, with date to be determined.
