Rhoda Berger Brand was born on March 11, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, and passed away on April 11, 2026, at her home in Simi Valley, California, due to cancer.
Rhoda worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years for various companies.
She had a love for playing and watching tennis, sci-fi, swimming, and music. She was an avid tennis player and even served as captain of a tennis team. She also enjoyed traveling around the world with her older sister, Selda. Rhoda was a talented soprano singer and carried a deep appreciation for music throughout her life.
She was reserved, a good listener, and someone who was always willing to offer thoughtful advice. Rhoda was a strong and independent woman who remained that way throughout her life.
One of her proudest accomplishments was raising her three sons. She valued her family deeply and took pride in the life she built.
She would want to be remembered as a loving and hardworking mother, a great and dedicated tennis player, and as someone who remained independent and strong to the end. She was an inspiration for how well she took care of herself her entire life…people were amazed at how great she looked for her age.
She is survived by her sons, Barry, Doug, and Eric, her grandsons Dylan and Julian, daughter-in-law Beth and granddaughter-in-law Tiffany.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena, her father, Larry and her sisters, Miriam, Myrtle, and Selda.
Rhoda will be remembered for her strength, her independence, being a beautiful soprano singer, avid tennis player and swimmer into her mid-90s and the love she had for her family.
