Richard Schieler, born August 29, 1940, in Illinois to Clarence and Elsie Schieler (Weidner), passed away of natural causes on September 27, 2025, in Claremont, California. He was 85.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nadia Schieler. He is survived by his son, David Schieler; daughter, Elizabeth Smith (Schieler); and granddaughters, Claire and Ella Smith.

Richard dedicated 35 years of service to Michelin Tire Company as a Tire Technician, specializing in inspecting damaged and worn tires for causes of failure and wear. In 1990, he moved his family from Chicago, Illinois, to Fontana, California, where they enjoyed a warmer climate and closeness to Nadia’s family in Santa Barbara.

A devoted Christian, Richard’s faith was central to his life. He grew up in the Lutheran Church and continued attending there even after marrying Nadia, who preferred the Baptist church. Each Sunday, Richard would attend the early Lutheran service before joining his family at the Baptist service, a reflection of his selfless devotion to God and family.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Richard will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and love of sports, especially his lifelong support of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls.
