Robert Allen Rivier, known to everyone who loved him as “Bobby,” was a one-of-a-kind character. He had a quick sense of humor, a mischievous streak, and a way of making people laugh that was uniquely his own. He was also the person you could count on when you needed a hand. Bobby showed up for the people he loved, and he did it without hesitation.

Bobby was born on May 25, 1951, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and passed away on September 5, 2026, in Anaheim, California. At just six months old, he was adopted by Joseph and May Rivier (née Hooey). His family eventually settled in Orange County, California, where he grew up and made many of the memories that stayed with him throughout his life.

Some of Bobby’s favorite memories were made with his cousins in Chino, California. Their days were filled with playing, exploring, getting into a little mischief, and finding adventure wherever they could. Those early years helped shape the fun-loving and adventurous spirit that remained a part of Bobby throughout his life.

As a young man, Bobby loved his GTO and could often be found cruising around town with the stereo turned all the way up. It was just one of those things that was unmistakably Bobby.

Bobby became a father to four sons. With Denise Fairris, he welcomed Travis and Jeremie. With Tammy Hopp, he welcomed Joshua and Christopher ‘Alan’. Joshua passed away tragically at just nine days old and was never forgotten.

Later in life, Bobby met Linda Cisneros. Together, they shared nearly 30 years of life, companionship, and memories. Linda and her daughters, Anjanette Cisneros and Lenore (Ron) Kuhle, became an important part of Bobby’s life and the family they built together.

Bobby loved animals, especially birds, enjoyed watching television, and treasured time with family. But more than anything, he enjoyed people. He loved a good joke, a good story, and giving someone a hard time just for the fun of it. He could tease just about anyone—from family and friends to complete strangers—and somehow make you laugh while he was doing it. That playful spirit was one of the things people loved most about him.

And when someone needed help, Bobby was there. Whether it was helping someone move or simply lending a hand, he was often the first to arrive and the last to leave. He didn’t need to be asked twice.

Bobby was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Joseph Rivier and May Hooey; his birth parents, Robert Jamieson and Emma Fisher; his infant son, Joshua; his stepfather, Ron Whitehouse; and Renee Cisneros.

He leaves behind his sons, Travis (Lisa) Rivier, Jeremie (Amanda) Rivier, and Christopher Alan Rivier; his sister, Vicki (Steven) Ryle; his longtime companion, Linda Cisneros; Anjanette Cisneros and Lenore (Ron) Kuhle; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one niece; four nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins; and many friends whose lives were better for having known him.

Bobby will be remembered for his love of family, his, laughter, his generosity, his stories, his sense of humor, and the way he could make an ordinary moment memorable. But those who knew him best will remember the little things—the sound of his laugh, the look in his eye when he was about to make a joke, the music coming from his GTO, and knowing that if you needed him, he would be there.

We will miss you, Bobby. Our lives are a little quieter and a little less fun without you in them. But you left us plenty of stories to tell, plenty of memories to smile about, and a lifetime of reasons to remember you. Save us a spot—we’ll see you again.
