Roger Huguez passed away on June 9, 2026. He was a long time resident of Boyle Heights.

Roger was known for his friendly and chatty personality. He enjoyed talking with everyone in the neighborhood and loved joking around with his many nieces and nephews.

Roger worked in the medical field as an X-ray Technician for more than 25 years. He was very proud of completing his X-ray Certification Training at ELA Occupational Center and obtaining his State License. Because he loved helping others, and enjoyed his work so much, he would often encourage and help others pursue the same career path.

In his free time, Roger enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra and was an avid sports fan. He proudly cheered for his favorite teams, including the USC Trojans, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Roger would like to be remembered as a hard worker who enjoyed helping others. Although his later years were filled with challenges, he would want everyone to remember the happy times and the person he was during his earlier years.

He is survived by his mother, Belia Huguez; his brothers, Michael and Ronnie Huguez; his sisters, Mary Olvera, Christine Huguez, Cynthia Rodriguez, and Sandra Avalos; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Huguez; his brothers, Gilbert and Robert "Dede" Huguez; and his sister, Anita Huguez.

Roger will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends and deeply missed by all who knew him.
