Ronald Elster passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on Saturday,  June 27, 2026. A longtime resident of Westminster, California, Ronald was a deeply kind, soft-spoken man who dedicated his life to his country, his family, and the stars above. He was a cherished son, brother, and uncle.

His life of service began early. From 1973 to 1976, Ronald proudly served in the United States Army. During his enlistment, he spent a memorable year stationed in Germany, an experience that expanded his horizons and shaped his dedicated work ethic.Following his military service, Ronald shared his brilliant mind with the aerospace industry during a distinguished 40-year career as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas and Boeing. His exceptional talents contributed directly to the Space Shuttle program, leaving an indelible mark on the history of American space exploration. Though he worked on complex, monumental projects, he approached life with a quiet humility.

Outside of his historic career, Ronald found his greatest joy in life’s simpler pleasures. He never married, but he possessed a massive heart and a gentle spirit that made him a beloved figure to the children in his extended family and neighborhood. As a devoted uncle, he brought endless patience and warmth to the younger generations. He also loved the ocean and spent countless peaceful hours enjoying the beauty and tranquility of Seal Beach.

He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a loving son, brother, and uncle who blessed the world with his brilliant mind, his gentle voice, and his profound kindness.
