The world lost a truly remarkable man with the passing of Ron Golden, who left this world surrounded by love and family. He was the proud father of six children, grandfather to fourteen, and great-grandfather to many more — each one a reflection of the love, humor, and strength he brought into this world.

A lifelong resident of Taylor, Michigan, Ron lived a life defined by selflessness, humility, and service to others. He was a co-founder of the Junior League World Series, a past president of the Little League World Series, and an active member of the Democratic Club of Taylor, the Lions Club, and Goodfellows. He donated thousands upon thousands of hours to help children and families in need — from standing on street corners raising money for kids at Christmas, to wrapping baskets and delivering Thanksgiving dinners to those who couldn’t afford one. His generosity and community spirit were unmatched.

Before his decades of community service, Ron proudly served his country as a United States Marine, where he became known as an expert marksman — a skill that reflected his steady hand, sharp mind, and unwavering focus throughout life.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Cheryl Golden, Ron dedicated his last decade to his greatest joys — his grandbabies, Lexie and Evie, and his daughter, JoAnne. Together they created memories filled with laughter, love, and adventure.

Ron is survived by his loving children: Ronnie and his wife Tamara and their four children; Shelley and her husband Al and their four children; Julie; Chris and his wife Rachel and their son; Jerry and his wife Karen and their three children; and JoAnne and her two children. He also leaves behind multiple great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his love forward.

He loved college football, an occasional Bud Light, visiting the beach, going on adventures, and being surrounded by his family — especially his grandbabies. With his quiet demeanor and spicy personality, Ron left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He loved deeply — and was deeply loved in return. His legacy of kindness, service, and family devotion will live on through all whose lives he touched.

Ron will be cremated, and his remains will be buried with his wife, Cheryl, at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, Michigan. A celebration of life service will be held in the spring for all who knew and loved him.
