Russell Scott Dumas, 82, passed away on July 19, 2026, in Northridge, California, after a battle with cancer.

Born on April 11, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Russell lived a life filled with creativity, faith, and dedication to the people and passions he loved. He worked in acting, pin striping, gig and fixture building, and manufacturing parts for airplanes. Acting was his passion, and he was especially proud of his talent and the many dreams he pursued throughout his life.

Russell loved dancing, archery, and spending time with his beloved dog, Cookie, and beloved kitties, Buddy, and Heidi. Above all, he loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, and might. He enjoyed talking about his faith with everyone he met and found great joy in sharing his life stories with anyone willing to listen.

He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, loving heart, and kind nature. Russell was a perfectionist who took pride in everything he did. He wanted to be remembered as the best man he could possibly be, a good father and boyfriend, a moral man who loved his family, his faith, and his passion for acting.

Russell is survived by his son, Erik Dumas; his daughter, Cat; his sister, Patty; his nieces, Jeanine and Julie; his nephew, Jim Jr.; his special friend who was like family, Jim Sr.; and his girlfriend and sweetheart, Cheryl Manseau.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Burns, his father, Russell Dominique Dumas, and nephews, Jeff and Johnny.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Springville, California. Additional details will be shared with family and friends.
