Samuel John Harris
Obituary

Samuel John Harris passed away on August 17, 2026, in Southern California. He was headed home from work when he was struck and killed while riding his motorcycle. He was born on April 22, 1999, in Provo, Utah.

Sam worked as a bathroom remodeler with Rapid Remodel, where he enjoyed working with his hands and bringing his craftsmanship to life. He was looking forward to earning his contractors license. His creativity extended beyond his work; he helped build a play area for his nieces and nephews; always willing to jump in and help out on any project whether that was working on cars and motorcycles, yard work, or random projects around the house.  

Sam had a deep appreciation for living and experiencing life to the fullest. Life hasn’t been easy for him, yet he fought hard to overcome the obstacles life presented. He loved riding motorcycles and driving “fun” cars; long hikes anywhere in nature; studying and putting into practice the teachings of the Bible; and sharing life with his beloved dog, Patch. However… He especially cherished family: being an uncle, brother, son, and grandson was the most important part of life. Through his own hard-earned life experiences, he sought to help others. He always hoped to make people feel seen, appreciated, validated, and most importantly, loved… just as they are. He lived by the teachings of the Gospel and sought to bring peace to others. 

Those who knew Sam will remember him as a thoughtful, compassionate, and dependable friend. He was unafraid to speak honestly when it mattered, yet he did so with care. He welcomed everyone, especially individuals with special needs, making sure they felt included, safe, and valued. A loyal friend with a generous heart, Sam has left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

He would want to be remembered as loyal, honest, hardworking, intelligent, thoughtful, adventurous, loving, giving of his time and talents. 

Sam was most proud of his family, both the one he was born into and the family he chose along the way. There was nothing he was more proud of than his nieces and nephews and looked forward to every milestone and accomplishment with them. Especially buying their first car. He is their biggest fan and cheerleader - loving them with every part of his soul. 

He is survived by his mother, Jackie Harris; his father, Jimmy Harris; his brothers, David Harris and Jacob Harris; his sisters, Stephanie Swaggerty and Willow Harris; and his grandfather, John Harris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Ameen-Hodel; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Street-Harris; and his uncle, Joshua Hodel.

A celebration of Sam's life will be held at a later date. In keeping with his family's wishes, it will not be published here but they ask to contact them directly for privacy reasons.

Samuel John Harris will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering loyalty, and the genuine care he showed to others. His love, kindness, and the lives he touched will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
