Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Keener, a woman of deep warmth and vibrant energy, passed away and went to her heavenly home on March 31, 2026. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Lloyd “Bud” Keener, and a beloved mother to her daughters, Kristina Kovach and (predeceased) Margaret “Lee” Kovach.

Sandy was also a cherished sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and loyal friend who left an indelible mark on everyone she knew. She dedicated her professional life to helping others, retiring from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center as a Therapeutic Program Worker.

Even in retirement, Sandy remained active and engaged, attending her workout program twice a week and prioritizing her health. She found great peace in gardening, tending to her yard with care, and she loved nothing more than "tooling around" the area with her husband. A social butterfly at heart, she cherished her weekly luncheons and the lifelong friendships she maintained so faithfully.

Her legacy of kindness, her sense of humor and her gentle spirited personality will be missed by so many.
