Sandra “Sandy” Kay Sebastian of Huntsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family following a recent illness. She was 74 years old.

Sandy was born on April 3, 1952, in Anchorage, Alaska, the oldest of five children.

In May 1971, Sandy married Arch Hammett. Together they lived in several places before eventually making Texas their home, where they raised their family.

Sandy had a lifelong passion for arts and crafts. In her younger years, she enjoyed painting pottery and sewing, and later devoted her creativity to making beautiful flower arrangements, wreaths, and framed artwork. She found great joy in sharing her handmade creations with family and friends. Sandy also loved trying new recipes and was rarely without something cooking in the slow cooker.

Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Sandy's close relationship with the Lord brought her comfort and peace, and she spent many years faithfully journaling her favorite scriptures. She treasured conversations with family and friends and always had a story, memory, or thoughtful observation to share.

Sandy is survived by two daughters, one son and their spouses, Dawn Lyman and husband Darrell of Needville, Texas; Tammy Fruge and husband Philip of Houston, Texas; Robert Hammett and Robin Scott of Austin, Texas; and her five beloved grandchildren, Joshua Woodward, Kyle Woodward, Alexander Fruge, Lacey Fruge, and Bodhi Hammett.

She is also survived by her siblings, Karen Matteson, Mark Parker, Rhonda Boos, and Michael Parker, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Connie Parker.

A private family service will be held.

Sandy will be remembered for her creativity, unwavering faith and deep love for her family. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
