Sharon Lee Lay, 66, of Seal Beach, California, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026, in the loving presence of her husband. She was born on July 18, 1959, in San Pedro, CA.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Lay; her daughters, Shoshana and Jasmine; her son-in-law Savitich, and her cherished grandchildren, Leonardo, Vladimir, Khristian, and Aven. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, BeBe, who was always close to her side.

Sharon was, above all, a loving wife and an extraordinary, deeply involved grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren outweighed everything else in her world. She affectionately called them “booshka,” a name that carried her warmth and playful spirit. She lived for their laughter, their milestones, and the simple joy of playing with them.

She was known for her lively character and her unforgettable personality — strong yet soft, fierce yet nurturing, stubborn yet deeply compassionate. Sharon was the kind of neighbor who would step in whenever someone needed help. Her kindness extended beyond her family and into her community. She had a wonderful sense of humor even though sometimes she would take herself too seriously. Family will always remember her joking about her old “shooting missiles” noises — a story that brought laughter for years. She loved her television shows, faithfully watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and enjoyed getting wrapped up in reality shows like Below Deck. A good book and time with her grandchildren were among her greatest pleasures.

Sharon attended church regularly and held a quiet but steady faith in God. Her belief was gentle and personal — something she carried in her heart rather than wore outwardly.

Her passing came swiftly. After suffering a stroke, she was battling stage four lung cancer that had spread to her bones and brain. Though her illness progressed quickly, she was able to return home, where she passed peacefully with the comfort and love of her husband by her side.

Sharon lived an eventful life from her younger years through the very end. She faced challenges, overcame obstacles, and was striving to continue building a meaningful and happy life when sickness took her far too soon. Her strength, her love, and her vibrant spirit will live on through her family — especially in the laughter of her grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
