Obituary

Shelley Anne Abbey passed away on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 at Eisenhower hospital in Rancho Mirage, California after a brave battle with cancer (that she fought and beat the first time around!). Her strength, determination and love for life will ,above all, always be remembered. 

She is survived by Ashley LaVine (niece), James Lavine (nephew by marriage), Lexie Fifer (niece), Jeff Fifer (nephew by marriage) and several great nieces and nephews: Alishiah, Issabellah, Dawson, Matthew, Emmah, LJ (James), Hudson, Wyatt and Ellie and her best friend who was like her sister Nicole Michel. She is preceded in death by Darlene Abbey (howey) (mother), Howard Abbey (father), brothers: Daniel Abbey and Marlon Aldridge, Phyllis Howey (grandmother),Carol Castaldo (aunt) and Jay Castaldo(cousin).

Shelley spent much of her adult life living in Ferndale, Washington before moving to Palm Springs. Shelley was fiercely independent, loved life and was a free spirit, the only thing she loved more than life was her animals. Her dogs were her babies. I know Shadow, Rusty, Jazz and all the rest of them were waiting on the other side to welcome her and I'm certain she ran to them with open arms. 

She will be deeply missed by all of us.
