Simone Janean Fikes, lovingly known as “Monie,” was born on July 20, 1965, and peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Simone was the beloved daughter of the late SSgt. Alfred and Alberta Fikes, who preceded her in death, along with her brother, NeShawn Fikes (Dianna).
Simone dedicated many years of her life to the airline industry, where she built a fulfilling career and developed a deep love for travel. Through her work, she connected with people from all walks of life, forming lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. Her journey allowed her to experience the world, and she carried that spirit of adventure wherever she went.
She made her home in Michigan before later settling in Temecula, California, where she continued to embrace life with strength, grace, and her signature sense of humor.
Most importantly, Simone surrendered her life to Christ and was confident in her eternal home. Her faith gave her peace, strength, and assurance, even in her final days.
Simone will be remembered for her resilience, her loving heart, and the quiet strength she displayed, even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and faith.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving siblings: Alonya “AJ” Fikes (Warren) Inkster, MI, Zimberlis Fikes (preceded in death by his wife Cathy),Inkster, MI and Taurrek Fikes (Monique) LaGrange, GA. along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in God’s Word:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8
Simone’s life will forever be cherished, her memory will forever be honored, and her love will remain in our hearts always.
