Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Stella Romero Garcia. She entered into the presence of the Lord on July 18, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Stella lived a life full of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the heart of her home. Stella always put others before herself and made everyone around her feel welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved.

Twenty-five years ago, Stella was diagnosed with cancer. Following successful treatment, she went into remission and embraced the years that followed with gratitude, strength, and determination. She retired after a proud and fulfilling career as an echocardiographer.  In the years that followed, she devoted herself to the people she loved most. Those years became some of the greatest blessings of her life as she watched her family grow, celebrating the births of her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment she was given with them.

Family was Stella's greatest joy. She found happiness in gathering everyone together, celebrating life's milestones, and spending time with those she loved. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel safe, valued, and at home. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Stella loved cheering on her team each season. No matter who made it to the Super Bowl, everyone gathered at her home for the big game. Everyone was always welcome, and so many wonderful memories were made at those parties. During the season, it was always fun to see the house divided—with Stan rooting for the Chicago Bears and Stella standing by her Steelers. Those who knew her well wouldn’t dare call her during a Steelers game.

Stella had a gift for making everyone she met feel like an old friend. Her warmth and compassion created lifelong friendships, and among those dearest to her heart were Cini and Priscilla, whom she lovingly considered sisters. To know Stella was to experience unconditional love, quiet strength, and unwavering encouragement.

Stella's faith was deeply personal. While she didn't often express it outwardly, she believed in Jesus Christ, and her family finds comfort and peace in His promise of eternal life.

Stella is survived by her beloved husband, Stanley Garcia; her children, Fred, Richard, and Jason; her grandchildren, Johnathan, Joseph, Brittany, Jacob, Audrey, Dystani, and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Avery, Logan, and Matthew; her sisters, Betty and Pete; her brothers, Sonny and Billy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Though our hearts are broken, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, resilience, and kindness. Stella's legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with her compassion and generosity.

While we will miss her every day, we find comfort in Christ's promise that this goodbye is not forever and rejoice in knowing she is now resting in His presence.
