Stephen Forrest Eaton, 69, was born in Arlington, TX on February 7th, 1957, to his parents Harley Earl Eaton and Charlotte June Eaton. He grew up in Grapevine, TX with his three siblings Jonathan, Lynn and Leah. Steve loved a garage sale. There are stories told of him rolling out a large, laminated map on the floor on Friday nights, mapping the next day’s conquest by newspaper ad.

He loved cars. Any cars really, but certainly a Ford Thunderbird. He restored them with his father for the better part of 20 years at their family business, the T Bird Nest. He could fix anything. He could talk to anyone. Never met a stranger. He collected sets of antique shot glasses. Loved a cigarette, a flea market, and a T-shirt with a pocket. Cooked spaghetti in a crockpot. Canned an outrageous amount of chili sauce, a recipe from his mother’s family. Owned and loved many conversion vans. Blessed his children with his amazing hair. Was often selfish but somehow also selfless too. Like all things in life, complicated and ever evolving. Babies and children adored him, drawn to his confident bright light. Played the lotto often and loved a scratch off. Felt accomplished by making anyone laugh.

Stephen died on June 23rd, 2026, after a long but hard-fought battle with cancer. Along the way, there was not a free snack or grape juice box he turned down nor a nurse he did not charm. He was one of a kind.

Stephen is survived by his three children and their families, Stephen Forrest Eaton Jr. (Chevon Eaton), Amber Rose Eaton Snipes (Scott Snipes), Brittany Nicole Eaton (Tyler Davis) and stepdaughter Dawn McLane, as well as 5 grandchildren Kaley, Kiersten, Maddie, Parker, and Pierce.
