With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen Hyde, who passed away on August 9, 2026, in Pasadena, Texas, due to complications from Alzheimer's. He was born on September 3, 1954, in Temple, Texas.

Steve dedicated more than 45 years of his career as an Instrument Technician, working for various chemical plants along the Pasadena, Texas ship channel..

Steve's favorite pastime was hunting, but nothing meant more to him than spending time with his family. He was an outgoing person who never met a stranger. His warm personality, love of life, and genuine interest in others made it easy for him to connect with those around him.

Steve will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Pawpaw. His family will forever cherish his stories, jokes, laughter, and the love he so freely shared. His presence brought joy to family gatherings, and the memories he created with those he loved will remain close to their hearts.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie Hyde; his son, Stephen Hyde; his daughter-in-law, Leighann Hyde; and his grandson, August Hyde.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Forrest Hyde Jr.; his mother, Jean Calhoun Hyde; and his grandparents, Joe and Kate Hyde, and Gus and Marie Calhoun.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Steve's love for his family, his friendly spirit, and the laughter he shared with others will always be remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
