Steven J. Calzaretta was born on September 5, 1968, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and passed away on February 13, 2026, in Seal Beach, California, due to CJD.

Steve spent his life in the entertainment industry as an actor, singer, and director. Before moving to California, he spent most of his free time in the studio or on stage with his band mates in their band Gone Country. He considered them all to be family. Steve loved to perform. He also loved to golf, go out to eat, and cook.

Steve was such a light. In many tributes written about him, the words used were immense talent, good looks, kindness to everyone, and the easiest laugh. He left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

He was an amazing husband, father, and friend. He had a way of making everyone feel special. One of his proudest moments was fulfilling the dream he shared with his wife to live by the water. Almost four years ago, they moved from Illinois to California and made that dream a reality. He was most proud of his sons, John and Bobby.

If asked how he would want to be remembered, his answer would be simple: “If anything ever happens to me, I had a blast.”

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Michelle Calzaretta; his sons, John Calzaretta and Robert Calzaretta; his father, Anthony J. Calzaretta; his brother, Anthony Calzaretta and sister-in-law Jenny Calzaretta; and his brother, Joseph Calzaretta.

He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Calzaretta, maiden name Del Giudice.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday March 26th at 11am at Saint Anne's Catholic Church - 340 10th Street, Seal Beach CA 90740. We understand that many family members and friends may not be able to travel out of state. The church offers live-streaming of the service, information will be shared when available. 

Steve’s memory will live on through the music he made, the performances he gave, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
