Stewart Wallin was born on August 31, 1956, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and passed away on February 11, 2026, in McKinney, Texas, due to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Stewart was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for 29 years for the United States Postal Service.

For most of his adult life, he was most passionate about spending time with his daughter, Sheila. They enjoyed biking, walking, playing HORSE, and him getting his butt kicked in Jeopardy. In 2017, Stewart suffered a severe stroke that left him wheelchair bound, able to say only a few words, and dependent on a feeding tube. After spending three years living with Sheila and receiving weekly therapies, he made an incredible comeback, defying all odds. Although he continued to live with partial paralysis and expressive aphasia, he was able to live on his own for the last six years with help from his daughter and ex-wife.

He enjoyed keeping up with his own yard as well as his neighbors’, and he loved watching the Cowboys, unless they were losing.

Stewart was quiet and funny, weird in the best way, and quick to help anyone who needed it. He would want to be remembered as an excellent Daddio and a cool grandpa.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Rosario; son-in-law, Israel Rosario; granddaughter, Zinnia Rosario; sister, Sheila Dalzell; brother-in-law, Andrew Dalzell; ex-wife, Sandra Wallin; sister-in-law, Lena Martin; mother-in-law, Linda Chadwick; sister-in-law, Julie Johnson; and brother-in-law, Robert Ferguson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Wallin; his father, Joseph Wallin; his brothers, David Wallin and Doug Wallin; his niece, Katherine Ferguson; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Ferguson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Kindness Humane Society, a Texas lifesaving animal shelter, in his honor.

Stewart’s resilience, humor, and love for his family will be remembered always.
