Tommie Lee Henderson passed away on October 30, 2025, in Anaheim, California. He was born on April 7, 1960, in Akron, Ohio.

Tommie had a loud sense of humor and was always cracking jokes, making people laugh, and bringing joy to those around him. He was outgoing, dependable, and known for always keeping his word. He had a deep love for his family, for cooking, helping others, traveling, and for his 1st Battalion, 225 Infantry Brigade, A-Company for life.

After enlisting in the Army right out of high school, Tommie proudly served his country, receiving the Army Service Ribbon and medals for completing initial entry training. He served in the 1 A Company 225 Infantry of Detroit, Michigan from 1983 to 1984, and later served in Fort Benning Georgia from 1990 to 1991. Tommie was deeply honored to have received an honorable discharge after seven years of dedicated service. He loved his Army brothers and often reunited with them whenever he visited Michigan.

He also held a license in bartending and a certification as a paralegal, reflecting his strong work ethic and passion for law. Tommie loved to cook and keep things tidy, and he took pride in being known as the best chef in the family. When visiting his sister Marcella in Michigan, he was always excited to share new recipes and his “excelente” cooking skills.

Tommie will be remembered as a loving and lively man with a big heart full of laughter. He believed in mending relationships, forgiving, and loving one another. His message to his family was always clear: no matter what issues arise, try to solve them and make peace. Life is short, so love your family and cherish each other.

He is survived by his sisters Michelle Rene Henderson of California, Marcella Jean Henderson-Booker and husband Harold of Michigan,Tomika J Stevens and husband Jeffrey and Tomyah J Lipscomb and husband Antonio of Greenville South Carolina, his brothers Jon Thomas Henderson of Greenville, South Carolina, and Stanley Dwayne Henderson of Anaheim, California, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews  and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Lee Henderson Sr., and his mother, Marcella J. Henderson Sr.
