It is with profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Tylia Rach`e Lenhart, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, animal advocate, and author whose compassionate heart and vibrant spirit touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone that knew her.
Tylia was born on August 5, 1985, in Wenatchee, Washington, to James and Alma Lenhart. During her childhood and teenage years, she lived in Corsicana and San Antonio, Texas, San Diego, California as well as Newport News, Virginia, before returning to Everett, Washington, in 2000. The diverse communities she called home, along with the friendships and memories gained helped shape her into the compassionate, caring, resilient, and independent woman she became.
Known for her fierce loyalty and unwavering compassion, Tylia was the person who stood up for those who could not stand up for themselves. She had a powerful sense of justice and passionately opposed bullying. Whether defending a friend, helping a stranger, or advocating for an animal in need, she always championed the underdog and led with kindness. She was a trusted friend and a source of comfort to many.
Tylia was a devoted animal lover which remained a constant and defining quality throughout her life. From childhood through adulthood, she lovingly cared for a variety of pets, including ferrets, sugar gliders, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, birds, and a snake. Her compassion extended beyond her own pets, as she advocated for the stray or neglected animals as well. She believed every creature deserved proper care, kindness, and protection; for they had no voice. Her gentle heart was always evident.
With a creative spirit and a passion for storytelling, Tylia was a talented writer and achieved her dream of becoming a published author. She wrote two novels, A Best Friend's Betrayal and The Cherub's Face, sharing her imagination and unique perspective with readers. Writing allowed her to express herself and leave a lasting mark through her work.
Anyone who knew Tylia knew of her love for all things horror and Halloween. She embraced the spooky season with enthusiasm and joy, finding delight in its creativity, mystery, and fun. Her vibrant personality and distinctive interests were part of her unique identity, making her unforgettable.
Tylia is survived by her loving parents, James and Alma Lenhart; her adoring older siblings, George Garcia, Layla Jimenez, Luis Ramos, and James C. Lenhart; her cherished nephews, Seth Garcia, Luis "LJ" and Brendyn Ramos; and loyal best friends, Andrea Reyes-Gonzales, Herbania Simmons, Melissa Hampton, and Averie Jaine Meehan.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandparents, Guadelupe Garcia, Ignacio and Beatrice Jimenez, Ozro and Hollis Mason, and Charles Lenhart; Aunt, Sylvia Mason; Cousins, Lauro Deleon and LeeAnn Johnson and Godson, Juelle Morton, whose memory she carried in her heart.
She also leaves behind many extended family members that include her Grandma Stella Lenhart and Grandpa Joe Garcia; Aunts, Uncles, and a host of cousins; Honorary Second Parents and brother, Noel and Carmen Reyes and Joshua Reyes, countless friends and co-workers, and fellow animal lovers who will forever treasure her memory.
Though her time with us was far too short, and words cannot fully capture the impact Tylia had on those who loved her, her legacy lives on through the compassion she showed, the lives she touched, the animals she cared for, and the stories she shared. She will be remembered for her strength, her loyalty, her creativity, and her willingness to stand up for what was right.
Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
To the world, she may have been one person, but to those who loved her, she was the world.
Until we meet again in Heaven, I will be waiting…
