Victor Manuel Lemus was born on January 12, 1941, in Santa Catarina Mita, Jutiapa, Guatemala. He passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Palmdale, California, from natural causes.
Victor was a hardworking, honest, and honorable man who lived his life with integrity and purpose. He was an avid reader who enjoyed keeping up with the news, reading National Geographic magazines, and watching classic films starring John Wayne, Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood, and Sylvester Stallone's movie “Rambo.” Music brought him great joy, especially Mexican trios and the heartfelt songs of Julio Jaramillo.
He worked as a chef at Beverly Carlton hotel in Beverly Hills for almost three decades; and as a teacher when he lived in Guatemala. Victor had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He was a natural storyteller and enjoyed offering guidance, especially to young people.
One of his greatest sources of pride was his children and their professional and spiritual accomplishments. He valued family deeply and believed strongly in passing down values of hard work and faith.
Victor is survived by his son, Victor Lemus Jr.; his daughter, Sany Alegria, son-in-law, Joe Alegria; his grandchildren, Brianna Callahan, Joseph Timothy Alegria, and Jacob Lee Entwistle; his great-grandchildren, Anthony Richard Callahan and Hailey Lucia Alegria; his beloved niece, Jasmine, whom he raised as his own; his two brothers and sister; and a myriad of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his first wife, Jessie, who selflessly cared for him in his final years and remained faithfully by his bedside until the end.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Mercy, and his second daughter, Adriana Entwistle.
Victor will be remembered as a man who worked hard, lived honestly, loved deeply, and brought laughter and wisdom to those around him. His legacy lives on through his family and all whose lives he touched.
