Walter Bator passed away on June 10, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, from natural causes. He was 80 years old.

Born on September 18, 1945, in Central Falls, Rhode Island, Walter lived a life defined by service, dedication to family, and lasting friendships. He was known for his great sense of humor, generous spirit, and ability to make friends wherever he went. Mischievous and a prankster in his younger years, Walter remained a loving and caring person throughout his life. His favorite words were often "Thank you," reflecting the gratitude he showed to everyone around him.

Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. Following his military career, he worked as a contractor for Boeing. His service was recognized through numerous honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Expert Qualification Badge.

Among his many interests, Walter enjoyed shooting sports, reloading ammunition, collecting firearms, and hunting. He also valued the deep and lasting friendships he built throughout his life.

Walter was especially proud of raising his children and supporting them as they grew into adulthood. A devoted family man, he dedicated himself to those he loved. He also faced significant health challenges later in life, including receiving a heart transplant, and met those challenges with remarkable courage, grace, and determination.

Walter wished to be remembered as a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Adriana, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He was also a devoted father to his daughter, MaryAnn, and his son, Walter "Guy" Bator Jr., who will deeply miss him and the many life lessons he shared with them.

He is survived by his wife, Adriana Bator; daughter, MaryAnn Beene; son-in-law, Ken Beene; son, Walter "Guy" Bator Jr.; daughter-in-law, Frances Bator; grandson, Remington Bator; brother, Stanley Bator; sister-in-law, Mary Bator; favorite niece, Debbie Young and her husband Paul; and great-nieces, Nicole and Stacey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Anna Bator, and his brother, Stevie Bator.

Walter will be remembered for his generosity, gratitude, devotion to family, and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He leaves behind cherished memories that will remain with those who knew and loved him.
