Obituary

With much love and heavy hearts, we remember our brother, Wesley Hoyes, whose kind heart and wild spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Wes passed away in Blythe, California, on May 8th, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving behind cherished memories and lifelong friendships.

Wes was a true free spirit who lived life to the fullest, and completely on his own terms. He was happiest when he was surrounded by the people he loved most, his family, he lived for family gatherings and barbecues, where his warm presence and love for a good time brought everyone laughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Bron Hoyes, and granddaughter, Jaden Hoyes,  his 5 siblings: two sisters, Terri Williams of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Paula Contreras of Blythe, California; and three brothers, Timothy Halferty of Newton, Iowa, Jack Lynch of Blythe, California, and Kenneth Lynch of Blythe, California, along with several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Wes was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jacinda Hoyes, his parents, Ila Pool and Paul Hoyes, and his brothers, Rex Halferty and Jackie Halferty. 

A private ceremony will be held in Wes’s honor in Lucerne Valley for close friends and family, where he will be laid to rest with his daughter Jacinda.
