Obituary

William Coveney passed away on July 6, 2026, in Palm Desert, California, after a long illness. He was born on January 5, 1949, in Newton, Massachusetts.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved working on Sudoku, KenKen, and crossword puzzles. He was known for being outgoing, funny, and instantly likable.

During his career, Bill worked on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Medicaid system design and implementation. He also spent 13 years as an innkeeper in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He was proud of his work with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and took great pride in decorating the home he shared with his family.

Bill would want to be remembered as a caring and loving person and a devoted family man.

He is survived by his spouse, Larry Murphy and friend and family member Richard Wells,  his sisters, Nancy England and Patty Coveney; his brother, Paul Coveney; his niece, Kristin England; his nephews, Shawn England, Scott England and T J Coveney;  and numerous extended family members on both sides.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, and his father, William.

For the past 47 years, Bill, Larry, and Richard built a family together and shared their lives with one another, creating many years of love and memories. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
