William “Bill” Glenn Abbott, 63, of Quinlan, Texas, passed away on August 10, 2026, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his loving family who cherished him deeply.

The youngest of five siblings, Bill was born in Aurora, Illinois, in 1962, to the late Willis “Bill” and Mary Abbott. Because of his father’s career, the family moved several times throughout his childhood before settling in Rockwall, Texas, in 1979. It was there, during his senior year of high school, that Bill met the love of his life, Debbie.

Bill and Debbie shared 40 years of marriage, but their relationship was so much more than that—they were best friends, partners, and each other’s greatest source of love and companionship. From the beginning, they grew up together, built a life together, and remained devoted to one another through every season of life. Debbie was Bill’s person, and the depth of her love and devotion to him was evident to everyone who knew them. She cared for him with extraordinary tenderness, strength, and unwavering commitment, especially during his final days.

Bill graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1991 with a degree in Finance & Economics and went on to co-found the telecommunications firm CTAP in 1996. He was the epitome of a salesman, with a natural ability to connect with just about anyone. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel like old friends. He never lost that gift for connecting with people, making them laugh right up until the day he passed.

Bill’s faith and positive outlook were also a defining part of who he was. He faced life with an optimism that was contagious and a genuine belief that there was always something to be grateful for. His faith gave him strength, and his positivity touched the people around him.

Bill was a devoted father to his two children, Collin and Taylor, and took immense pride in watching them grow into the wonderful people they are today. He was immensely proud to be their dad.

Outside of his career, Bill enjoyed playing golf, spending time at the beach, and cooking for family and friends, whether gathered around the kitchen or the grill.

Bill’s greatest legacy, however, was the love he gave to the people around him. He had a larger-than-life personality, an unmistakable sense of humor, and a gift for making people feel welcome. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and the person everyone could count on to bring a laugh to the room. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Willis “Bill” and Mary Abbott, and his mother-in-law, Jane Haag. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Debbie Abbott; his children, Collin Abbott (Michael) of Dallas and Taylor Abbott (Dave) of Austin; his siblings, Ray Abbott (Beth) of Rowlett, Kari Simonitch (Mark) of Rockwall, John Abbott (Tracy) of Wylie, and Mary Jane Box (Eric) of Garland; his father-in-law, Roger Haag (Johanna) of Rockwall; and many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry his memory with them.

Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, Texas on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
