With heavy hearts we announce Chun Fong Yap passed away on July 25, 2026, and his beloved wife, Winnie Hau Hang Yap, passed away on July 27, 2026. Their lives were marked by love, faith, perseverance, and deep devotion to their family.

Chun Fong was born on June 6, 1938, in China, to Ip Fu Man and Wong Yau Mui. Winnie was born on August 9, 1947, in China, to Kap Chan and Kam Yick Hang.

They married in February 1971 and shared more than 50 years of marriage. Together they built a life in Hawaii, where Chun Fong worked as a cook for more than 30 years and Winnie worked as a housekeeper and waitress for more than 30 years. Through many years of hard work, they provided for their family and created a home shaped by commitment, sacrifice, and care.

Chun Fong was a devoted husband and father whose love was often expressed through action. He worked faithfully, persevered through challenges, and gave much of himself to support his family. He gave himself the name “Lucky” because he felt fortunate and grateful for the life he had been given.

Winnie was a loving and kind wife and mother whose warmth and care were felt deeply by those closest to her. She was hardworking, dedicated, and devoted to the service of her family and friends, generously giving of her time to those around her.

Together, they raised their children, Queenie and Peter, and welcomed Peter’s wife, Sheila, and their grandchildren, Daniel, David, and Hannah. Their family was the center of their lives, and the values they lived by continue through the generations they leave behind.

Later in life, both Chun Fong and Winnie became Christians and grew to deeply love Jesus. Their faith brought them comfort, hope, and peace, and became a meaningful part of their later years. Their family is grateful for the faith they shared and the hope they found in Christ.

They are survived by their daughter, Queenie; their son, Peter; their daughter in law, Sheila; and their grandchildren, Daniel, David, and Hannah.

Chun Fong and Winnie will be remembered with deep love and gratitude. Their legacy lives on through their family, through the sacrifices they made, through the kindness and dedication they showed, and through the faith they came to cherish. They will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as devoted parents and grandparents who gave so much of themselves to the people they loved.
