Careers at Meadow

Deathcare is a $20B industry hiding in everybody’s blindspot. It touches every family, yet remains fragmented, widely distrusted, and offline - all while the world around it has transformed. We believe families deserve a fundamentally better experience.

At Meadow, we're building the modern funeral home. In under two years, we've become California's largest independent, earning hundreds of 5-star reviews and an 80+ NPS along the way. Powered by a team that's built and scaled real-world businesses, we're expanding nationally with urgency, discipline, and plenty of meaningful work still ahead.

Building Meadow Together

We're a remote-first team that came from companies like Stripe, Google, Honor, and Oscar, and chose to build in a category almost no one else will touch.

We pair modern technology and design with real operational discipline, applied to a service every family eventually needs and almost no one has done well. Low-drama, high-output, and serious about both the work and each other.

At Meadow, being a trusted partner isn’t just a phrase—it shows up in how we speak to families, how we show up for one another, and how we move through our day.

Meadow is the first place I’ve worked where you have to think like an artist, a scientist, and a caregiver all at once. Everyone on the team embodies this rare mix of creativity, rigor, and compassion, united by a shared purpose: building something that truly matters.

The leadership team gives me the trust and independence to take ownership of my work, while also offering guidance and feedback whenever I need it. I’ve learned to handle sensitive situations with more empathy and improve my communication skills.

Our Core Values

Act with Agency

We take pride in our work and own the outcome. We move important work forward, take responsibility when something matters, and focus on solving the right problems — not waiting for perfect answers.

Provide Unmatched Hospitality

We care for families in a way they’ll never forget. That means warmth, empathy, and attention to the smallest details — and delivering hard truths with honesty and compassion.

Be a Trusted Partner

We say what we mean and do what we promise. Trust is built through honesty, reliability, and direct communication — even when the conversation is difficult.

We’re tackling complex operational and regulatory challenges to make one of the most vulnerable moments in people’s lives easier to navigate. We’re expanding rapidly into new markets, and this industry is long overdue for change—making the opportunity to build a better experience at scale both meaningful and energizing.

High Care, High Standards Culture

We hold ourselves to a high bar in service of our families, and we're building a team that meets it. We want Meadow to be a place where you can do the best work of your career, combining high standards with real support. From day one, you'll know what's expected.

Every employee has a structured onboarding plan, clear role expectations, regular feedback, and managers who are accountable for helping their teams grow.

We also ask for feedback on ourselves. Twice a year, the entire team evaluates how Meadow is run, and we share the results internally and act on them. Our latest survey was over 80% positive, with the biggest opportunities centered on improving processes and tooling as we continue to grow.

What energizes me most is seeing the impact of our work through the eyes of others. Reading heartfelt reviews from families and hearing from our hospice partners about how we’ve eased such a difficult time reminds me every day why what we do matters.

Benefits That Match How We Work

We’ve kept our benefits simple and focused on what actually matters.

Health, first.

We put the bulk of our investment into Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, because that’s what most people care about most. Through Justworks, you’ll get strong plan options plus extras that make healthcare easier:

  • One Medical membership for on-demand primary care
  • Kindbody for family-building and gynecology care
  • Talkspace for online therapy
  • Teladoc for virtual health
  • HealthAdvocate to help navigate care
  • FSA/HSA accounts if that’s how you like to manage costs

Time off you’ll actually take.

We run on ownership and trust, so our Unlimited PTO policy fits. There’s no cap on how many days you can take – most people land around 15 per year, plus 10 holidays. The point isn’t the number, it’s making smart decisions and coming back recharged.

Parental leave that really supports you.

Parents (including adoptive and same-sex partners) get 6 weeks fully paid leave. Birthing parents get up to 12 weeks fully paid (6 weeks parental + 6 weeks recovery). You can take it all at once or in week-long blocks during your baby’s first year.

Tools to do great work.

Full-time U.S. employees get a MacBook, and we’ll cover any software (or phone) you need, plus $300 to make your home setup better – whatever makes your space work for you.

Compensation that’s clear and fair.

We’ve taken a disciplined approach to compensation from day one to keep things consistent, fair, and strategic so both our team and the company can grow in a healthy way. We benchmark ranges using market data, and every offer is based on 3 factors:

  1. Performance potential: based on interviews and track record
  2. Seniority: the depth of your relevant experience
  3. Location: cost of living differences across markets

The Families We Serve

Their service was excellent. Through direct communications and their web portal they kept me up to date on the entire process. I was very happy with their professionalism in a very trying time for me and my family. I highly recommend them.

– Larry G.

This place should be the first choice! We chose them for the convenience and affordability and they did not disappoint. We contacted Meadow Memorial knowing that my mother-in-law had months to live. The portal they provided me gave me access to know what was happening. I am forever grateful.

– Juanita K.

In the middle of grieving, the last thing I wanted to do was figure out all the logistics for cremation and memorial. Finding Meadow was such a relief–they not only took care of everything down to the last detail, but really made me feel heard and supported along the way.

Job Openings

We’re expanding to new markets every month and building a national business now, not “someday.” We’re looking for people who would rather write the playbook than follow it. If you want meaningful work with massive market potential—and a team that’s as fun as it is smart, you’ll fit right in.
