Why Meadow

Why should I use you over another direct cremation provider?
Many providers advertise a low starting price but add additional fees later. Meadow offers one transparent, all-inclusive price so you know the full cost upfront. With licensed professionals, 24/7 support, and everything handled for you, families choose Meadow for simplicity, trust, and peace of mind during a difficult time.

Getting Started

What do I do after my loved one has passed?
The first step is to contact our Care team. Your Care concierge will guide you through the process, answer questions, and collect the information needed to get started. Once we have those details, we will: (1) bring your loved one into our care, (2) begin arranging the cremation, (3) guide you through required paperwork, and (4) keep you informed every step of the way. We can also provide guidance on how to honor your loved one.
Are you able to collect at any time?
Yes. Meadow is available 24/7. Timing may depend on the location (e.g., hospitals may have set release times), but we will work with you to collect as soon as possible and keep you informed throughout.
Can I pay for a cremation in advance?
We can only legally accept payment for cremation at the time of service, or if you are purchasing a pre-plan with us. Pre-planning is intended for families where the death is likely 6 months or more into the future.

Plans & Pricing

What packages do you offer?
We offer two straightforward cremation packages. Most families choose our Signature Package, which provides the best value and peace of mind. The Signate Package is our most comprehensive package and the best overall value. It covers every step — from transportation and paperwork to the safe return of ashes in a premium wooden urn — with the added benefit of priority turnaround time for faster delivery. Our Basic Package is designed for families who only need the essentials, covering both the cremation process and required paperwork. It does not include priority turnaround time, delivery of remains, or a permanent urn; ashes are available for pickup in a temporary container.
Do I have to pay upfront?
Payment for cremation is required on the day pickup is scheduled. Monthly payment plans may be available to qualifying families.
What payment methods do you accept?
For at need cremation services, we accept debit and credit cards. A 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments. There is no fee for debit card payments. For pre-planning, we offer different options depending on whether you elect for a single pay or multi-pay plan. For single pay plans, electronic funds transfer or check are accepted. For multi-pay, credit card or electronic funds transfer is accepted.
Do you offer burials?
No. Meadow currently only offers cremation services, which is what the majority of Americans choose.

Memorials

What funeral packages do you offer?
Available in Los Angeles County only. Meadow offers a transparent funeral package that makes it easier to honor your loved one without the stress of coordinating every detail yourself. Hold the service at one of our partner chapels or at your family's preferred place of worship.
Can you help us write an obituary?
Yes. We can provide guidance and support to help you write an obituary that reflects your loved one’s life and legacy. All obituaries are then published on Meadow's website.
Will the body be present at the funeral?
We offer body-present funeral services for families in Los Angeles County only. You may hold the service at one of our partner chapels or at your family's preferred place of worship.

Pre-Planning Basics

Why do people pre-plan?
The three most common reasons we see for pre-planning are: (1) Peace of mind - for yourself and your family, (2) Financial planning and protection against inflation and out-of-pocket costs, (3) Full decision making for your final goodbye, exactly the way you’d like it. We often work with families who have recently had someone pass away without a plan - and seen the financial and emotional distress that caused for others. Planning ahead allows you to avoid this issue and reduce the burden on your loved ones.
What will happen when the time comes?
If you have a pre-plan with Meadow, your loved ones simply call Meadow’s Care Team at 844-606-3210. We will guide them through the process, answer any questions, and bring you into our care.
Can I buy a plan for someone else?
We often see couples and families buy together. We will need the signature of each person who will be a participant of a plan. If you have power of attorney, you can also provide documentation to sign on someone else’s behalf.
What does the price I pay today cover?
With our Price Lock package, the price you pay today covers all the services you select—no matter how many years pass or how costs change in the future. Your family will never owe anything more.

Pre-Planning Plans & Coverage

How much does pre-planning cost?
Plans are either prepaid or paid over time via a monthly payment plan. Payment plans start as low as $32/month. The cost of the payment plan will depend on your age, the length of the plan selected (i.e. 3 vs 5 years) and size of your upfront deposit, if you chose to make one. A licensed representative can provide more details, but generally a fully prepaid plan with Domestic Travel Protection costs $1,595. If you’re interested in a payment plan, we can have one of our licensed representatives provide that to you
How do payment plans work?
If you choose a payment plan, part of your monthly payment goes to your cremation and part goes to the third party insurance company. The insurance company charges an insurance premium, which is separate from what Meadow charges for cremation, to cover you in the event that you pass away before the plan is paid off. When paid off in full, payment plans will be more expensive than single pay due to the insurance premiums. The Travel Protection service must be prepaid - payment plans are not available.
What if I die before I finish paying off a payment plan?
As long as your policy is still active when you pass, and you were not previously diagnosed with a terminal illness, or another exception, or on modified coverage, your plan with Meadow will be covered.
Can I pay off a payment plan early?
Yes, you can pay off early with no penalty.
What payment methods do you accept?
For single pay plans, electronic funds transfer or check are accepted. For multi-pay, credit card or electronic funds transfer is accepted. A 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments. There is no fee for debit card payments.
How does the Anywhere Protection Service work?
With Anywhere Protection services, we will facilitate the cremation through one of our vetted partners - anywhere within the continental 48 states for Domestic Protection or anywhere around the world under Global Protection - and return your ashes back to your loved ones in the U.S. You can choose to preplan with or without Anywhere Protection.
What if I decide to use another funeral home?
You can use the insurance program to pay another funeral home, as described in greater detail in Sections 13 and 14 of the Enrollment Form. However the service cost will not be guaranteed, so you may end up paying more if their services exceed that of your plan value with Meadow. However, if you do not have power of attorney, you will also need their consent and signature.
What if you go out of business?
We don’t plan to go anywhere anytime soon. But you can rest assured that per state law, the funds for your prepaid funeral plan will be securely invested with an independent entity, so that if we were to go out of business, the funds in your plan can be transferred to another provider.
