Why Meadow
Why should I use you over another direct cremation provider?
Many providers advertise a low starting price but add additional fees later. Meadow offers one transparent, all-inclusive price so you know the full cost upfront. With licensed professionals, 24/7 support, and everything handled for you, families choose Meadow for simplicity, trust, and peace of mind during a difficult time.
Getting Started
What do I do after my loved one has passed?
Are you able to collect at any time?
Yes. Meadow is available 24/7. Timing may depend on the location (e.g., hospitals may have set release times), but we will work with you to collect as soon as possible and keep you informed throughout.
Can I pay for a cremation in advance?
We can only legally accept payment for cremation at the time of service, or if you are purchasing a pre-plan with us. Pre-planning is intended for families where the death is likely 6 months or more into the future.
Plans & Pricing
What packages do you offer?

Do you offer burials?
No. Meadow currently only offers cremation services, which is what the majority of Americans choose.
Memorials
What memorial packages do you offer?
We offer a range of memorial packages designed to help families honor their loved one in a meaningful way. These packages are currently available in Los Angeles county only.
Can you help us write an obituary?
Yes. We can provide guidance and support to help you write an obituary that reflects your loved one’s life and legacy. All obituaries are then published on Meadow's website.
Will the body be present at the funeral or memorial?
Meadow does not serve families that are interested in body-present funerals or memorials at this time.
Pre-Planning Basics
Why do people pre-plan?
What will happen when the time comes?
Can I buy a plan for someone else?
We often see couples and families buy together. We will need the signature of each person who will be a participant of a plan. If you have power of attorney, you can also provide documentation to sign on someone else’s behalf.
What does the price I pay today cover?
The price you pay today covers all the services you select—no matter how many years pass or how costs change in the future. Your family will never owe anything more.
Pre-Planning Plans & Coverage
How much does pre-planning cost?
How do payment plans work?
If you choose a payment plan, part of your monthly payment goes to your cremation and part goes to the third party insurance company. The insurance company charges an insurance premium, which is separate from what Meadow charges for cremation, to cover you in the event that you pass away before the plan is paid off. When paid off in full, payment plans will be more expensive than single pay due to the insurance premiums. The Travel Protection service must be prepaid - payment plans are not available.
What if I die before I finish paying off a payment plan?
Can I pay off a payment plan early?
Yes, you can pay off early with no penalty.
What payment methods do you accept?
How does the Anywhere Protection Service work?
With Anywhere Protection services, we will facilitate the cremation through one of our vetted partners - anywhere within the continental 48 states for Domestic Protection or anywhere around the world under Global Protection - and return your ashes back to your loved ones in the U.S. You can choose to preplan with or without Anywhere Protection.
What if I decide to use another funeral home?
You can use the insurance program to pay another funeral home, as described in greater detail in Sections 13 and 14 of the Enrollment Form. However the service cost will not be guaranteed, so you may end up paying more if their services exceed that of your plan value with Meadow. However, if you do not have power of attorney, you will also need their consent and signature.
