Theresa Dorsey Mounce, 59, of Burbank, California, passed peacefully in the arms of her husband at their home on Thursday, October 24, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11am on December 3rd, at the Maxwell House in Pasadena, CA.
Theresa was born December 19, 1964, in Whittier, California and her family moved to Kingwood, Texas when Theresa was 11. She graduated from Kingwood High School and later attended Texas A&M in College Station where she received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. After returning to California, Theresa joined Creative Artists Agency where she was a respected Story Analyst for 26 years.
After being swept off her feet by future husband Paul (or vice versa depending on who you ask), they grew to share many passions together, including: a love of travel, fine wine, and seeking out new adventures. They spent many years seeing the world together, and along the way adopted many, many cats. Theresa was also an avid cyclist, continuing to rack up the miles despite the many hurdles placed in her path. To her friends, her happiness and humor were infectious, and her easy friendship was a gift to all who met her.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Theresa. She loved a quiet evening with friends and a glass of wine in hand, afternoons working in her garden, or relaxing at home with a warm kitty snuggling in her lap. She was an avid reader, a ready wit, and a political junkie who would never shy from a robust discussion of the issues of the day. As a young girl, Theresa had a love of horses, and eventually realized her dream of showing her quarter horse (Lacie) in competition.
Theresa is survived by her husband of 24 years, Paul; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Violet Dorsey; mother and stepfather, Barbara and Ron Donahue; parents-in-law Ron and Ruby Mounce, and her beloved fur-babies Maxwell Edison and Oliver (Max and Ollie). She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Emory Dorsey.
