How Our Cremation Process Works

1. Start the arrangements

Our arrangement process can be done over the phone, via email or online. Answer a few questions, and we will handle the rest.

2. Your loved one is brought into our care

Once you have chosen Meadow as your provider, we will bring your loved one into our care and keep them safe until the paperwork is complete. Questions? Our team of experts are here to help.

3. Cremation and return of ashes

A licensed funeral director will complete the required documentation to proceed with the cremation. Once the cremation is complete, the remains will be carefully returned to you in a tasteful wooden urn. We will keep you updated so that you are informed every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I use you over another direct cremation provider?

Many providers advertise a low starting price, but add additional fees later. We believe families deserve clarity and compassion — not confusion around pricing. That’s why Meadow offers one transparent, all-inclusive price, so you know the full cost upfront. With licensed professionals, 24/7 support, and everything handled for you, families choose Meadow for simplicity, trust, 5-star reviews and peace of mind during a difficult time.

What do I do after my loved one has passed?

The first thing to do is contact our Care team at (844) 606-3210. Your Care concierge will be able to walk you through the process, answer any questions, and collect the brief information needed for us to get started. Our team will do everything they can to make the funeral arrangement process as simple as possible. Once we have those initial details, we'll transfer your loved one into our care and begin the process of arranging a cremation. We'll guide you through the paperwork that must be completed, and keep you constantly informed of what's happening with your loved one. In parallel, we can share guidance and resources if you're considering how to honor your loved one.

Do I have to pay upfront?

We require payment for cremation on the day pickup is scheduled. Monthly payment plans are also available to qualifying families through Affirm.

Do you offer burials?

Unfortunately, no. At this time we only offer cremations, which is what the majority of Americans opt for.

Do you help plan funeral services?

Body-present funeral planning services are currently available only for families in Los Angeles County. You may hold the service at one of our partner chapels or at your family's preferred place of worship.

In other areas, we do not currently offer body-present funeral planning. Depending on the type of service you choose, you may still be able to have the urn and ashes present. If not, many families choose to honor their loved one with photographs, personal mementos, and other meaningful keepsakes instead.

Are you able to collect any time?

Yes we can help anytime day or night – our team is standing by 24/7. Sometimes timing will be dictated by the location of collection, for example certain hospitals will have dedicated collection times that we must adhere to. Needless to say, we will always work with you to collect as soon as you are ready, and will keep you informed.
